Who we are

Shaqwaya Living is a small rare-plant business based in Montgomery, Alabama. We sell a limited number of collector aroids — variegated Monstera, Philodendron and Anthurium — and sell them one specimen at a time.

There is no warehouse and no drop-shipping arrangement behind this shop. Every plant listed here is physically in our care, photographed where it stands, and packed by the same people who answer the emails.

One plant, one listing

Most plant shops sell a species and send you whichever example comes to hand. We do the opposite. Each listing is a single plant with its own photographs, pot size, substrate and height, and once it sells the listing is gone.

It is slower to run a shop this way, and it means we can tell you exactly what you are buying: how the variegation sits on this plant, how established the roots are, and how tall it actually stands.

How we choose what to sell

• Plants are grown on until they are properly rooted and stable — we do not list a fresh cutting as an established plant.
• Anything showing pests, rot or stress stays here until it recovers, or it does not get listed at all.
• We keep the range narrow. A short list of aroids we understand well is more useful to you than a catalogue of species we have never grown.

Shipping is on us

Standard tracked shipping is free on every order in the United States, with no minimum. Heat packs and insulated liners are included whenever the forecast calls for them, at no extra cost, because a plant that arrives cold is not a saving for anyone.

The 30-day guarantee

Every plant is covered for 30 days from delivery. If it arrives damaged, arrives wrong, or fails to establish despite reasonable care, we replace it or refund you — the full terms are on our guarantee page.

We would still rather help you save a struggling plant than replace it, so if something looks wrong in the first weeks, write to us early.
