Shipping Policy
How we pack living plants, what shipping costs, and when your order leaves us.

What shipping costs
Standard shipping is free on every order, with no minimum spend. The price you see on the product page is the price you pay — no shipping line is added at checkout, and no surcharge is applied for heat packs or insulated packaging.
We do not currently offer a paid expedited service. Every order travels on the same tracked service so that plants spend as little time in transit as possible.
Where we ship
We ship to street addresses within the United States only. We do not ship internationally, and we cannot deliver to freight forwarders.
Some states operate agricultural inspection or quarantine programmes that restrict which live plants may be brought in. If your order cannot lawfully be shipped to your state, we will contact you before dispatch and refund it in full — you will never be charged for a plant we cannot legally send you.
Processing and delivery times
- Order cut-off6:00 PM Central Time, Monday to Friday
- Handling time1–2 business days
- Transit time2–4 business days
- Total delivery time3–6 business days
- Ships fromUnited States
Orders placed after the cut-off, at weekends, or on public holidays are prepared on the next business day. We avoid dispatching late in the week when a plant would otherwise sit in a depot over the weekend.
Transit times are carrier estimates, not guarantees, and can be affected by weather and network delays outside our control.
How your plant is packed
Every plant is packed by hand on the day it ships:
- The root ball is kept moist and the pot is wrapped and braced so the substrate cannot shift in transit.
- Leaves are supported with soft paper; larger specimens are staked inside the box.
- The box is marked as live plants so it is handled and stored the right way up.
- A heat pack and insulating liner are added at no charge whenever the forecast along the route calls for it.
Cold and heat holds
Extreme temperatures are the main risk to a shipped plant. When the forecast at your address or on the route is severe — broadly, sustained temperatures below freezing or above 95 °F — we may hold your order for a few days and send it when conditions improve.
We will always email you if your order is being held, and you can ask us to ship anyway. Plants sent against our weather advice travel at your risk and fall outside the 30-day guarantee.
Tracking your order
You will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number as soon as your parcel is collected. Tracking can take 24–48 hours to start showing scans.
If tracking has not updated for two business days, or your parcel has not arrived within the estimated window, email us and we will chase the carrier with you.
Delivery day
Plants should not sit outside. If you can, arrange to be home, or have the parcel held at a pickup point rather than left on a doorstep in the cold or in direct sun.
Open the box within 24 hours of delivery. Unpack the plant, let it rest somewhere bright and out of direct sun, and water only once the substrate has been checked. Our 30-day guarantee depends on the plant being unpacked promptly.
One address per order
We cannot split a single order across multiple delivery addresses. If you need plants sent to different people, please place a separate order for each address — shipping is free on all of them.
Returns and claims
If a plant arrives damaged, photograph it in its packaging before you unpack any further and email us the same day. Full details are in our Return & Refund Policy and our 30-Day Plant Guarantee.
